The road to a stronger more focused team of Shell employees started with a series of exciting team building games conducted by Magnovo.
Shell is one of our most loyal customers because they’re so committed to the professional development of their employees and the success of their corporation.
Global dynamism in a nutshell
And what a corporation Shell is. It started in the early 1900s as Royal Dutch Shell and their headquarters remains in The Netherlands. But their reach vastly exceeds that small country.
Today Shell is a global leader in the energy and petrochemical industry. It operates in more than 70 countries and territories and employs some 92,000 workers. And they value the importance of each staff member!
According to the company website, their vision for the future and their role in it is crystal clear and very compelling: Shell’s purpose is to power progress together with more and cleaner energy solutions. We believe that rising standards of living for a growing global population are likely to continue to drive demand for energy, including oil and gas, for years to come. At the same time, technology changes and the need to tackle climate change means there is a transition underway to a lower-carbon, multisource energy system.
Shell’s top executives have a keen understanding of what the future will bring. And they understand that the strength of their team is the key to their continued success. That’s why they value each of the employees and aggressively promote leadership development and team bonding.
Exciting team building games with a purpose
Shell is very intentional about corporate goodwill because it simply makes sense, and because it creates a healthy corporate culture. They strongly advocate social, economic, and political diversity. And Shell also invests in career fairs, math and science camps, and teacher development. Wisely, they are grooming this generation for the future growth of the company.
So they were particularly interested in our Puttin Pantry Charitable Workshop because it resonates with their corporate social responsibility and sustainability policies.
Our workshop combines the most exciting team building games with cutting edge professional training. From executive presence awareness to DiSC personality profile discovery to collaboration and conflict management—our workshops are turnkey.
We met 45 Shell staffers in Houston and they were already geeked. During our Puttin Pantry workshop, participants divide into teams and build a miniature golf course made of canned fruits and veggies, packaged foods, snacks, and bottled water. And each hole is tricked out with some of the wackiest decorations you’ve ever seen.
During the construction process, team members must learn to collaborate, create, and solve problems as a team. And during the competition, teams compete to play through the entire course and “win” some serious bragging rights.
Exciting team building games break the ice
Fun is job one during all of our events because it dissolves the barriers that keep people from getting to know each other—and this is key to learning to work together as teammates.
It’s impossible to keep a straight face when you see some of the goofy golf holes designed by our workshop participants. And it’s impossible for them not to tear up when they realize just how valuable their donations really are.
In this case, we were honored to donate our foodstuffs to the Heights Interfaith Ministries Pantry, or HIM Pantry.
Houston is the fourth largest city and one of the most affluent in the country. Nonetheless many communities in this metropolis don’t have ready access to grocery stores or farmers markets.
The HIM Pantry serves an average of 100 families each week. They also provide diapers and baby food items. And they donate non-perishable meals to the homeless and others who have no access to kitchen facilities.
Exciting team building games that result in donating tons of food to the hungry make everyone a winner!
