We love it when customers choose our Wheelcharity™ Charity Team Building Workshop. Of course we stand behind every charitable organization we work with in our workshops, but the one behind LinkedIn’s event truly does wonderful things in the world.
And, since LinkedIn is all about joining people from all corners of the globe on social media, what better way to express their social corporate responsibility? Here’s how that works…
Wheels for the World is a global organization, just like LinkedIn.
Did you know that wheelchairs are incredibly expensive? For this reason, there are people all over the world, even in the United States, where people who need wheelchairs don’t get them.
At the same time, there are unused wheelchairs sitting in warehouses and storage facilities right here in our country. There are also many un-assembled wheelchair parts sitting and waiting for groups like LinkedIn’s to put them together so they can be shipped out to those who need them the most.
What Wheels for the World does is incredible. They serve as an international collection point for wheelchairs from all over the US, then ship them around the world to some of the poorest people on earth. Lives are changed!
LinkedIn and Wheels for the World: a Great Pair
Both companies make global connections possible, and both companies touch the lives of people around the globe who may not otherwise have made those connections.
Wheels for the World serves underprivileged children in remote corners of the world. This kids are often from poor rural areas and are completely overlooked and isolated, so mobility challenges are that much more difficult to meet.
Granted, LinkedIn operates in a different world, where professionals connect and network, but the concept is similar: connections for positive change. We held a team building workshop in San Francisco to build the wheelchairs.
If you’d like to connect and make a difference around the globe for children facing a lifetime of isolation without wheelchairs, the Wheelcharity™ Charity Team Building Workshop may be just for you.
We also run our Wheelcharity™ workshop for local charities as well. Whether it’s hospitals, veterans’ centers, or local rehabilitation facilities, they all need wheelchairs, and you can help.
If you’d like to learn more about Wheels for the World or any other of the charitable organizations we work with, please give us a call or send us a note. We work with many reputable and effective organizations who initiate positive change every day. Wheels for the World is just one of them!
